1. What do you like about blogging?
Honestly, this semester really taught me to write entry or known as blogging. Before this I no nothing about this. Blogging really attracts me because through it, I can see and read my friends' blog, about their interest, their profile, their ideas, and their creativity in decorating their blog. Not only that, blogging really help me as well as my friends to share ideas. I also can leave comments on others and receive feedback from them about my entries in my blog. So, through blogging, our relationship become strengthen as we help each others in developing in daily life. Thank you my friends...

2. What you do not like about blogging?
For me, blogging is good. However, if it is being a must or as a task, the quality will not up to the standard. What I mean here is, usually blogging becomes a place to a person to share feelings and ideas. And also it is depending on their emotion to write any entry. Besides that, a person also need to ask one's URL to open his/her blog. So, if he/she does not get one's URL, he/she cannot open the blog.

3. What have you gained from blogging? 4. How?
Blogging really helps me in my language skills as well as writing skills because every word is come from our own, and not from others. So, in order to pour out my ideas, I need to plan my own sentences. Not only that, blogging also helps me in critical thinking and improved thought processes as I need to think what are the things that I want to write and what are the things that I can comment on others. And of course blogging helps me in my ICT skills. Now I know how to embed videos to my blog...

5. What do you like about this course?
Throughout this course, I can learn how to edit photos, audios, and videos which are important for us to use them as resources for teaching and learning process. I also can learn what are others resources that I can use instead of 'chalk and talk' method. And one more thing is this course taught me to write entries through blogging.

6. What you do not like about this course?
Hmmm... What I can say is this course really 'eat' my money. I need to spend much money to buy CDs, papers, and ink. As for now we do not get allowance for stationary, we really suffer in using money. However, perhaps our hard work will be paid with best results. All the best to you!!

7. What do you learnt from this course? 8. And what did you not expect?
As I said before, this course taught me to edit photos, audios, and videos. And all these are useful for me to use as resources in T&L process soon. Hopefully the children really enjoy it. I also learned about e-portfolio which is through blogging. Perhaps I can apply portfolio as one way in assessing in my future classroom.

9. What have you expected but do not learn from this course?
Based on the name of the course which is 'Using and Developing Resources in Primary School Classroom', what comes to my mind is this course will be about the methods and materials that I can use in teaching. I did not expect that it would be about technology as we also will learn another subject which is 'Using Technology in Primary School Classroom'. Then I realized that both of these courses are almost the same but in different aspects, they do have differences.

10. If you can change anything about this course, state what is it and elaborate.
I will change the way the students will submit their assignments. As what we have done, we need to print out all the powerpoint presentation. So, what I want to change is, my students will juzt need to submit their assignments through softcopy such as e-mail or just burn into CD as this course is also about technology. Thus, through this, students will apply their computing skills.

11. On a scale of 1-10, please rate your computing and technological skills for both before and after undergoing the course.
Before I undergo this course, I would rate myself in rate of 4 and after undergoing this course I would rate myself in rate of 8.

ADIEU!!

Huh!! It is already the last week of this first semester.. Time is flying very fast without our realization. And next week we will face an examination for this course. So fast? I'm not ready yet! So much assigmnets that still need to be settled on! And this semester I have no study week because of the assignments!! Relax girl.. You still have time to manage your work and study. Chaiyo2!!

Luckily Mdm is very kind to give us topics that will be tested in the exam. Thank you so much Mdm!! ;-) And to all of you, don't forget to pray for our success.. All the best to you!!

After those 14 weeks, so much things that I have learned. About lesson plan, resources to be used in class, portfolios, videos, audios, pictures editing and so much things... Thanks to Mdm and my coursemates for your cooperation along these 14 weeks. Hopefully we can still work together in the next semester. I surely will miss all the memories that we have in this short period... See you next semester!! =)

Assignments Submission...

LESSON PLAN??

We need to pass an assignment today. The assignment requires us to create 4 lesson plans with different skills on a topic from year 4, 5 or 6. For my part, I need to work on Reading skills by focussing on the topic of Healthy Living from year 4 topic. Actually I did not have much idea about it. However, when I recalled back on all assignments that I have done in IPIK, then I realized that I can make use the assignment. But of course I need to change most of the contents as I need to focus on my topic and targetted students, as well as integrated technology in that lesson plan. Luckily I managed to do my best in working on the lesson plan because I applied all my knowledge about ICT skills. Perhaps it is really interesting to be used and applicable in classroom.

I would like to thank Mdm for introducing us this assignment as we learned on how to create a lesson plan by focuing on the selected topic. It is a basic knowledge that we need to have to be a teacher as lesson plan will help us to have better planning in teaching and learning process. Hopefully all of us can share what are the lesson plans that we have produced so that everybody can learn and comment on each other to improve on.. ~ It is already week 12 ~

Today we are watching videos again... But in different versions. What I mean here is the videos are made by us. By me and all my coursemates. It is a pair work. Me and my partner have created a video about a teacher who is underestimate her student, and actually at the end she found out that student is really had a creative idea. The moral value that we want to convey here is do not ever underestimate our students in whatever situation. And always bear in mind that different students have their own creativity. Hopefully you guys will not just only enjoy the video, but also take the moral values as a lesson.

From all videos, I learned so much moral values that related to daily life. Not only that, I learned that in every video there is some hidden message behind it. It is depending on the audience on how they will make use and make meaning on it. Indirectly, I can see my friends' creativity and talents in making videos. This shows that technology is not a new thing for them. Perhaps all of us will use and apply our technology skills as our resources in teaching.

No More Holiday.. =(

Selamat Hari Raya to all of you. Even though no more holiday for raya, but now is still hari raya... One month for raya.. Hehe... I can see happiness on every body's faces as all of us just came back from hometown for our raya. But for sure 1 week is not enough for us to enjoy. Huhu.. However, raya is still raya, and study is still study. Life must goes on.

For this week, we have to present on our discussion about an article given to each group few weeks ago. For my group, we have read and discuss on article entitle 'Technology Professional Development for Teachers'. From this article, I learned that technology is very useful in helping teachers to develop their skills in teaching as it also helps in students' success.

After all presentations, I learned more on how to develop my teaching in the future as well as the ways or methods that I can use during teaching and learning process. Of course I will apply what I have learned today in the future when I become a teacher. Through all these presentations, indirectly, I learned that we can share ideas and understanding on what we have read since all group got different articles. I think this method is really helpful.. Thanks to everybody for sharing information.

This is a week before we will have our holiday for raya... Some of us even already gone back, and only left a few of us in class. I also in Raya mode already but for me class also important. Even though my body is in class, but my mind and my soul are at home. Hehe... Focus first! Focus!! Huhu...

For today's class, not much input that we have learned. Perhaps Mdm also is in Raya mode. Hehe...However, she shares with us about two selected videos, wchich one of it is about "Bidadariku" by Munif Ahmad. I found that it is really interesting, where the 'Bidadari' is referring to his wife.

Instead of the content, I found that Munif Ahmad is really creative in making meaning not only through the words, but also through the picture, scenary, and background colours. He used dark background to show that the video is very touching. Very nice!! I also didnot expect that all those aspects are very important in making meaning.

After all, Mdm also introduced us on Microsoft Publisher. I am a bit familiar about this before. Then I realized that there are more documents that I can create using this publisher. I can make menus, catalogs, brochures and so much things easily through this publisher.

I really feel grateful for attending today's class as I can learned two new things. Here I would like to take an opportunity to wish "Selamat Hari Raya" to Mdm Foziah as well as my muslim coursemates and "Hati-hati" on your journey going back hometown...

Ninth Reflection....

I felt so enjoyed for having this class today because Mdm Foziah has shown us several videos on Chun and Ella. It also triggered my interest to watch more videos on them during free hours. Hehe...

Then I realized that there was hidden meaning behind the video viewing. Huhu... Actually Mdm wanted to explain that there were some examples of videos made by people. She explained that we can create any video using several software that we can freely download from internet!! It sounded interesting since we no need to use our money... I should try one!

After the class, I spend my time to install software to make a video. I tried on 'Movie Maker' and I found that it was really interesting. Through it, I can upload photos, audios, or even short videos. I can decorate and put any texts that I like!! After I tried all that, then I realized that skill can be used for me to create an E-Book and show it to my future students.. Thanks Mdm for giving me a new idea.... And I found that today's class was really useful. ;-)

SALAM and HI everybody...

For last week, we were given time to finish our work before pass up to her.. On behalf of my group,I would really want to say sorry as we cannot submit the assignment on time. One of our group members had to finish up his video as our lecturer asked him to submit to her that morning due to unexpected incident. As he needed to redo his video(he was given one day only), he didnot have enough time to complete all the work..And at the end, we needed extra 5 minutes to pass up to Madam. However, we still cannot submit to her. We are all want to say sorry.. Perhaps she still want to accept our group work in the next class. We will really apreaciate it..

Not only that, our class also had been given some work to do..We need to complete all the chapter into powerpoint presentation and choose an article to work on. As a group, we chose to work on an article that related to technology. I felt so happy to use all the time in class to finish up the work so that it can bt finished earlier. Thanks my groupmates for giving your cooperation to complete the work...

7th WEEK...

In this week, we were shown some examples of the edited audio. I found it was very interesting as it was a new version of that song. I also felt want to try out on how to edit the audio.
Since we were given an assignment to do in editing audio,photo and ebook, I would like to take this opportunity to be an editor of an audio. Haha.. It may sound weird because I'm now in Education course!! However, this is the chance for me to learn and explore new things.
Hopefully, all the tasks that we do will give us lots of benefits.

E-BOOK???

SALAM & A VERY GOOD DAY...

Last week, for this course, we have assigned to create an E-BOOK. Madam has shown us some examples of E-BOOK made by her previous students. I found it was quite an interesting knowledge to be learned as future teachers because we can apply it in the classroom. Now I know what is E-BOOK all about and how to create it.

I have shown to her a few stories for the draft. Even though they were being rejected, I want to say thank you to Madam as she made me felt want to work hard to create a better story for children so that they will learn from my E-BOOK. Thank you, Madam.

In short, I would like to say that through E-BOOK, the teaching and learning process in classroom will be more interesting as the students will not only learn through traditional method, but also through technology. Indirectly, the used of E-BOOK will help the teacher to integrate IT skills among the children.

Photo Editing Using Photoshop...

Look at this picture.. Can you guess what is the siftware that I used??

Photoshop?? That's right!! Before I learned this software, I have heard about it, but I did not know how to use it.. Huhu.. Since last week Mdm Foziah taught us about photoshop, I was so excited to try out in editing pictures. I was so lucky to enter this course as I could learn and explore about photoshop.. During that class, we were given some tutorial guidance from a link given by Mdm Foziah. For me, that guidance was very helpful in helping me to explore and know how to use Adobe Photoshop. This was because, I could follow the step by step mentioned in the tutorial guidance. I was so happy as by the end of the class, I could edit my photo by my own!! Haha.. Now I know how to edit picture. From this learning, I could say that a single picture can be 'transformed' into a very nice picture where we can add text, change colour, make it look like a sketch and so many things we can do through Adobe photoshop. However, software without skills is no use.. So, I realized that ICT skills is very important in exploring the technology nowadays so that we will become a techno-savvy person.. And now I know how people make variety of beautiful pictures.

Next reflection from me...

Now it's already the fifth week of sem 1 2009/2010.. For the previous week, my class for this course had faced a problem where the internet server turned down. Since this course had to do a lot with internet, so we could not do much due to the problem occurred. However, our lecturer was so smart enough as she had a back up plan. She asked us to read subtopic according to the group and prepare the powerpoint presentation. I would to thank her as she advised us to have any back up in every planning so that we still can proceed with any activity even though we face any unexpected problem. So, I learned that a back up plan is very important to run a smooth activity.

For the task, my group had been assigned to work on three subtopics which were :
2.3 The significance of the way we chech understanding.
3.6 Reusing the core of ideas.
Activity 4 Listen and arrange.

Through all the subtopics which had been divided, my group members and I discussed together to find important points to be written into the powerpoint. From this group work, I found that it brought lots of advantages where we could share ideas, collect information, ask questions and so on. So, in my opinion, group work is very good activities in varying the learning styles in class as the students also can learn how to cooperate with other people in the group and make a better relationship.

That's all from me. Until this fourth week, I realized that every week I will learn something new from this course. Thank you, Ma'am..

First step towards assignment...

In this third week, we were given a guidance how to start working on our assignment. We have given a chance to do one part of the assignment where we need search a MP3 file from the web. We have been reminded that every page that we open, we need to copy and paste into word so that later on we can print into hard copy to be submitted by the end of this semester. Not only that, we need to copy it into powerpoint so that we can burn it into a CD.

From this guidance, now I know how to copy the whole page that appear on the screen into a file. The lecturer taught us to click on the 'print screen' icon and paste into the microsoft word. That was a new knowledge that I learned for that day. Thank you, Mdm. From that class, now I can start working on my assignment. I will try my best to finish up all the tasks. To all my friends, let us work together to finish up our assignment. =)

Second reflection for second class...

On 16th of July, 2009, I have my resources class. We have given a new task for our assignment. In groups, we were given the last year's assignment done by the seniors. We took a look on it and got some ideas before working on our assignment. For my group, we have assigned a topic about software. From now on, my group and I will look into some latest software to be used in our assignments.

Next, also in group, we have to read and discuss a few sub-topics from a book entitled "Teaching English in the Primary Classroom". For my group, we need to discuss on the subtopic 1.4 Children's instinct for play and fun. We have went through the topic and explain it in powerpoint presentation.. From this subtopic, I learned that every lesson should be in a fun way so that it can arouse their interest to learn.

Hopefully, I will manage my time well to do my assignments...

My first class for PBEY3102

Salam..Hello, everybody..

Today I was stucked in a traffic jam. I was late for my first class for PBEY3102. I'm so sorry Mdm Foziah for being late in this first class. In this class, we were given an overview about this course, on what are we going to face for 14 weeks of this first Semester 2009/2010. I expect that I will make use and apply all knowledge from this course in my teaching in the future. I know this course is very useful for a teacher like me as teacher is the one who needs to expose the children to ICT as now we are in a developing country and most of things are related to technology.. From the first day of this course, had given us many advices. She told us to be punctual in order to be a good role model for the children. Besides that, we have been advised to create a blog so that we can practice on how to use technology and apply the knowledge of technology skills in the future classroom. I felt so grate to have chances to learn this course as I am not a technology-savvy person and there are lots of things that I do not know about technology. So, I hope Mdm Foziah and this course could help me in increasing my knowledge on ICT. Thanks a lot..
